When you are saving your final presentation it is a good idea to try and optimize its file size.
In the Save As dialog window there is a button on the bottom left called Tools. Click on this button then choose Compress Pictures from the menu that is displayed.

Once the Compress Pirctures window is displayed, Click Options to get to the Compression Settings.

You have several options to customize how Power Point Compresses your images.

If you cropped any of the images, you can choose to let Power Point delete the part of the images that is not displayed, thus reducing the file size more. You can also choose your target output, if it is for Print, just for On-Screen viewing, or maybe you need it smaller to send it by email.
Please note that when you are reducing Image File Sizes this way, you are also reducing the quality. It is recommended that you test your presentation before you go public.
